Urban Foraging Workshop Around Winchester

Join us for this 3 hour workshop as part of a ‘Taste of Winchester’, during which we will cover the basics of foraging. You’ll be amazed at the amount of plants, edible seeds, leaves, flowers, fungi, roots, shoots that there are to be found – you just need to know what you are looking for!

We’ll meet outside Shoal, the fish and chip restaurant situated under the Guildhall and walk a circular 3-hour route. You can even treat yourself to a fish-and-chip lunch at Shoal before the workshop, with a special 10% discount. Lana, our guide for this experience, is renowned as the ultimate forager and a true master of the natural world. With an innate connection to the countryside, a keen eye, and acute senses, she is able to spot hidden flora, fauna and edible treasures that elude most others. Her knowledge of plants, mushrooms, and herbs is encyclopaedic and she can identify even the rarest species with confidence. You will go home empowered and with the knowledge to safely go out foraging yourself!

We’ll finish our walk around Winchester with a wild snack pre-prepared by Lana. This could be a cup of wild soup with foraged garnishes, a hunk of homemade sourdough with some wild pesto, or even a slice of cake!
