Join Experience Hampshire for this 3-hour workshop where they will cover the basics of foraging. You’ll be amazed at the amount of plants, edible seeds, leaves, flowers, fungi, roots, shoots that there are to be found – you just need to know what you are looking for!
Starting outside Shoal, the fish and chip restaurant situated under the Winchester Guildhall, the group will walk a circular 3-hour route. You can even enjoy a fish and chip lunch at Shoal before the workshop with a special 10% discount.
Experience Hampshire’s guide, Lana, is renowned as the ultimate forager and a true master of the natural world. With an innate connection to the countryside, Lana’s keen eye and acute senses enable her to spot hidden flora, fauna and edible treasures that elude most others. Her knowledge of plants, mushrooms, and herbs is encyclopaedic, and she can identify even the rarest species with confidence. Lana’s foraging prowess not only provides her with sustenance but also fuels her passion for sharing her discoveries with others, leading workshops like this to impart her wisdom. You will go home empowered and with the knowledge to safely go out foraging yourself!
The walk will finish around Winchester with a wild snack pre-prepared by Lana. This could be a cup of wild soup with foraged garnishes, a hunk of homemade sourdough with some wild pesto, or even a slice of cake!
